The Department of Medicine is a component of The University of Melbourne’s Medical School (MMS) and occupies floors 3 and 4 within the Clinical Sciences Building at St Vincents Hospital accommodating  research laboratories (Level 3) and offices / amenities (Level 4) .

Whilst the Clinical Sciences Building accommodates the majority of the MMS research programs, Level 4 in the adjacent Daly Wing North has been renovated to provide clinical trials services
The project was able to rationalise space in a more cohesive arrangement, consolidating PC2 containment facilities, cold storage and general laboratories. This arrangement made best use of the available services.

Also rationalised was the utilisation of the Daly Wing for Clinical Trials and associated facilities providing direct access to clinicians and trial participants without the need to navigate through research facilities.

The project works were completed on time and under budget.
