NEO-BIONICA
NEO-BIONICA
An initiative of the Bionics Institute and The University of Melbourne
Neo-Bionica is Australia’s first medical device prototype manufacturing facility. An initiative of the Bionics Institute and The University of Melbourne, Neo-Bionica is located on Level 5 of the Daly Wing in St Vincent's Hospital, Fitzroy.
The highly specialised laboratory features two PC2 rated cleanrooms, spacious workshops, a store room and office/meeting rooms.
The entry lobby is designed with a display case and features an electrical wave shaped slat wall and warm, calming colours that set off the research spaces, facility quality and atmosphere.
Neo-Bionica is set to fast-track new treatments for people with diseases such as Parkinson's and epilepsy and diabetes by giving researchers the ability to build small-batch prototype devices needed for a human trials in Australia, rather than contracting companies overseas.
Neo-Bionica will grow Melbourne’s reputation as a global biomedical powerhouse and world leader in the development and manufacture of medical devices.
